The EROOM quick diagnostic is a self-assessment tool designed to quickly identify the digital services with the greatest optimization potential.

It is based on a set of a few questions covering the main levers of software and organizational efficiency (architecture, code, operations, governance, etc.).

The goal is to obtain, in just 10 to 15 minutes per service, an initial snapshot that helps prioritize the actions to be taken.

### Objectives of the Diagnostic

  • Identify the most energy-intensive or inefficient services.

  • Determine the main sources of performance and software efficiency.

  • Create a shared language between technical, product, and sustainability teams.

### Methodology

The diagnostic consists of a few questions, each rated from 1 to 5:

  • 1 corresponds to a low or unmanaged level of mastery.

  • 5 corresponds to a high level of mastery, where good practices are already applied and measured.

The overall result is then converted into a percentage of optimization potential, ranging from 0% to 100%.

The higher the percentage, the greater the room for improvement — meaning the service still offers significant opportunities to reduce its environmental impact and improve its performance.Conversely, a low percentage indicates that the service is already relatively mature or efficient.

The diagnosis is not an evaluation tool, but a way to prioritize improvement actions.
There are no “good” or “bad” scores — only opportunities to act.

### Who Can Conduct the Diagnostic?

The EROOM quick diagnostic is designed to be simple and accessible, but it requires a minimum understanding of the technical context.

It can be conducted by:

  • someone familiar with the technical environment, able to assess the maturity of current practices;

  • a technical/product duo, to combine different perspectives;

  • an external consultant, as part of a Green IT audit or scoping mission.

Each diagnostic corresponds to one digital service.

An organization can therefore perform several quick diagnostics to build a complete map of its information system.

In short: the EROOM quick diagnostic is the compass that shows where to dig first.
